We install a service rather than sell a product, so there is nothing to ship back, and once work has been done it cannot be undone. This page says what happens when plans change, and what you are entitled to if something goes wrong.
| What you booked | Change the day or time | Cancel |
|---|---|---|
| A photo quote | Nothing to change; it is free and you are under no obligation | Just tell us, or do nothing. No charge |
| A free site visit | Free, any number of times; just let us know | Nothing to refund; there is no fee for the visit |
| An installation (card on file, nothing charged) | Free with more than 48 hours' notice | No charge with more than 48 hours' notice. Within 48 hours of your booked arrival time, or no one home: a $160 fee for the reserved time, plus anything ordered for you the supplier will not take back |
| Work already carried out | — | No change-of-mind refund. Your consumer guarantee rights for faulty work are unaffected, see below |
Because our work is a service performed at your home, there is no refund for a change of mind after it has been carried out. That is not the same as a problem with the work:
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract. Nothing in these terms or in our cancellation policy limits those rights.
In practice: tell us, we come back and fix it under our 2-year workmanship warranty and the Home Building Act warranties. If the problem is major and cannot be fixed, you are entitled to a refund for the part of the service that failed, or compensation for its reduced value.
Refunds go back to the card or account the payment came from, within 10 business days of our confirming the refund. Card refunds through Stripe usually show on your statement within 5 to 10 business days of that.
Anything unclear, email admin@voltcoreelectrical.com.au. We would always rather move a booking than have you lose a fee.
