You send us photos of your switchboard and your home so we can price a job without visiting. This page says exactly what we do with them, and with everything else you give us.
Voltcore Electrical ("Voltcore", "we", "us") is a sole-trader electrical contracting business (ABN 39 308 420 525) that installs EV chargers and does general electrical work in Sydney. We are based in Lidcombe, New South Wales. You can reach us about anything in this policy at admin@voltcoreelectrical.com.au.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Some small businesses are exempt from parts of that Act; we follow it anyway, because we ask you for photos of the inside of your home and that deserves care.
| What | Examples | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, mobile number, email address | To send your quote, confirm bookings, and text you an ETA on the day |
| Property details | Address, suburb, home type, single or three-phase supply, where the car parks | To price the cable run, plan travel, and lodge your compliance certificate, which must show the address where the work was done |
| Photos you upload | Your switchboard, the parking spot, the path between them, and any others you add | To quote the job accurately without a site visit. See Your photos |
| Job details | Your car, charger preference, solar, notes, preferred dates, the quote and any changes to it | To choose the right charger and do the work you asked for |
| Payment details | Amount paid, date, the last four digits of a card, a Stripe transaction reference | To hold a card against your booking. Card numbers go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them |
| Website data | Pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, how you reached the site | To see how the site is used and whether our advertising works. See Analytics & ads |
| An unfinished quote form | Whatever you had typed — usually your name, mobile, email and address — if you start the quote form and do not finish it | So we can ring or email you to finish the quote, most often to arrange the photos at a time that suits. Tell us to delete it and we will, the same day |
| Correspondence | Emails and messages between us | To answer you and keep a record of what was agreed |
We do not collect sensitive information such as health details, and we do not ask for identity documents. If you send us something we do not need, we delete it.
Photos are the heart of how we quote, so here are the rules we hold ourselves to:
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with anyone who is not helping us do your job. The services below process information on our behalf:
| Service | What they receive | Where their servers are |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe (payments) | Your name, email, and the payment itself. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy | United States and other countries |
| Resend (email delivery) | Your email address and the emails we send you | United States |
| ServiceM8 (job management) | Your name, contact details, address, the booking and the job notes | Australia |
| Cloudflare (website hosting, database and photo storage) | Everything you enter on this site, including photos, held in private storage | Global network, with data stored in Australia where the service allows |
| Google (Analytics and Ads) | Website usage data and conversion events. Not your photos, and not your name unless you enter it into a Google product yourself | United States and other countries |
| OpenStreetMap (Nominatim geocoding) | The address you enter, so we can estimate travel time and cluster jobs. No name is sent with it | Europe |
| Charger manufacturers | Your name, email, address and charger serial number, only when you ask us to register a warranty | Varies by brand |
| NSW Fair Trading and the electricity network | Your name and the address of the installation, on the compliance certificate the law requires | Australia |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to our insurer or professional advisers if there is a claim or dispute, or to a licensed electrician who assists us with your job under the same confidentiality.
Some of the providers above store information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose providers that hold themselves to privacy standards at least as strong as Australia's, but you should know that information stored overseas is subject to the laws of that country.
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use it, and the Google Ads tag to measure whether an advertisement led to a quote request and to show our ads to people who have visited this site (remarketing). Google is a third-party vendor that uses cookies and device identifiers to do this, and it processes that data under Google's privacy policy.
You can opt out:
We do not use any other advertising or social media tracking pixels. If we add one, this page will say so first.
The emails and texts we send about your quote, your booking, your invoice, your warranty or your compliance certificate are service messages, not marketing. We only send marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them, every marketing message identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe, and we action an unsubscribe within five business days, as the Spam Act 2003 requires. We never buy or sell contact lists.
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will respond within 30 days and there is no charge. Where the law requires us to keep a record (for example a compliance certificate for work we did), we will tell you what we have to keep and why.
If you think we have handled your information badly, email admin@voltcoreelectrical.com.au with "Privacy" in the subject line. We will acknowledge it within 5 business days and answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
If we change how we handle your information, we update this page and the date at the top. Changes that matter, such as a new tracking tool or a new overseas provider, are added before they take effect.
